Grand Teton Tours: Overview
Grand Teton Tours is a small locally owned & operated business based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I operate a guided sightseeing tour business from May through October for Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks.
Ever since I set foot in this valley on a ski trip in 1975, I’ve always felt drawn here; some sort of inexplicable feeling of belonging. I’m not unique. Many people visit and can’t wait to return. After skiing here on and off for 25 years, I finally was able to move here in the Fall of 2001. Another retired “rat” who gave up the big city “rat-race”. There are a lot of us here! Once here I became a bit passionate about the history of Jackson Hole & the local National Parks, a product of growing up with parents that loved to camp, fish & visit our nation’s parks. A stint volunteering for the Jackson Hole Historical Society Museum leading walking tours of historic buildings in downtown Jackson furthered my knowledge & passion. The more I learned the more I wanted to know.
I started doing park tours in the summer of 2002 and realized I had a knack for it. Now I work for myself and guide all of my own tours. I truly enjoy showing visitors around. People always ask me if it gets boring, and so far my answer has been an emphatic NO! There’s always something new to see, new people to meet, and I don’t know a single local that ever gets tired of the scenery.
I work hard to stay abreast of all issues regarding the parks and the ecosystem, and am known for my extensive knowledge of local lore and history. In my opinion, I don’t think you can do better than choosing my tours if you’re looking for a fun, informative tour encompassing all aspects regarding our region. If you have specific tour requests focusing on a single aspect such as geology, biology, volcanism, flora or fauna, I can recommend tours that focus on single subjects. But, why not get the “full meal deal” on what might be a once-in-a-lifetime visit?
