Bears are once again making a name for themselves in the parks.  A man was killed and partially devoured by a grizzly sow with 2 cubs in Yellowstone this summer.  She was put down, but luckily the cubs were adopted by the Toledo Zoo in Ohio.  The black bear with a cub that was raiding unsecured picnic lunches at String Lake in Grand Teton Park were spared and taken by a zoo in South Dakota.  Recently the Moose-Wilson road in southwest Grand Teton was closed due to a black bear invasion, keeping park personnel hopping.  No grizzlies – yet!  A poor huckleberry crop is driving bears to richer pastures of hawthorn and chokecherry.  A black bear sow with a cub made themselves at home in a residence in south Jackson Hole.  Mama was put down, baby relocated.  To be continued…
